Dataset: Daily Lake Ice Phenology Data Record Time Series Derived from AMSR-E and AMSR2, Version 1 (2002-2022) revised: 2017-01-09T16:05 2022-12-26T14:48 Authors: Jinyang Du, John S. Kimball and Claude Duguay Contact Email: jinyang.du@ntsg.umt.edu Purpose: Document NTSG AMSRE/2 lake ice phenology dataset for distribution. Summary: The 5 km resolution lake ice phenology record derived from microwave remote sensing allows for continuous and accurate monitoring of ice dynamics over large lakes of the Northern Hemisphere, which is greatly needed for studies of global change and for monitoring lake ice impacts on ecosystems and infrastructure, especially for high-latitude and high-altitude regions. Geographic extent: the Northern Hemisphere (90.0/-180.0,90.0/180.0,0.0/180.0,0.0/-180.0) Temporal Coverage: 2002-06-04 to 2022-12-31. No data are presented for the period between Oct.,2011 to May, 2012 when no AMSR-E or AMSR2 observations are available. version: 1.0 Note: Data are under "data" directory. A sample code for reading the data is in "code" directory. The ancillary files for reading the data are under "anci" directory and the code outputs are in "output" directory.
